  • Frequency Coordinators  ( 1 items )
Society staff and coordinators are researching and planning the future spectrum management of voice, digital and video frequencies in Texas. Currently, Texas has over 1600 repeaters from 10 meters to 1.2 GHz coordinated. Texas has more repeaters than several other states and coordinating bodies combined.

Coordination is performed by the Frequency Coordination Committee. Paul Baumgardner, W5PSB, heads this committee. He has seven coordinators on the committee that coordinates various bands and zones of the state. The Society's coordinators today use computers and email for carrying out their duties.

The Society uses its resources for coordinating repeaters and spectrum management in Texas so that there may be as interference free as possible VHF-UHF operations. This is quite a job and takes many hours of work and dollars to achieve. The coordinators are all volunteers and the funds used in their efforts come directly from the dues and memberships of the Society.

If you are a club, and you need to change the designated trustee, you need the Club Coordination Trustee Change form.
If you are a trustee and need to report a change in your machine's status, you need the Repeater Status form.
If you are a member wishing to report the on-air status of a repeater, you need the Repeater Status form.

    Frequency Coordination Waiting List

In the interest of fostering better communication to current and future repeater trustees, the Texas VHF-FM Society will routinely publish the current repeater coordination waiting lists for each zone. This list is utilized to aid in assigning repeater coordinations in a geographic region where all currently available pairs for a particular band are utilized. The zone frequency coordinator maintains the waiting list for each zone and reviews the list on a yearly basis.

The following is a list of FAQs that help to explain why the waiting list is needed and how it is administered:
